Presentation and Role
Established in 1870, the Chamber has a long and proud tradition of serving businesses in their best interest.
Lebanese Chambers of Commerce were founded by special governmental decree No. 36 of 1967, which regulated their activities representing the commercial sector, followed by the Industrial and the Agricultural sectors.
Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture of Tripoli and North Lebanon is a not-for-profit public utility organization, involved within its specialization, in trade, industrial and agricultural affairs. It is entitled to ownership, sale, acquisition, mortgage, acceptance of donations and contributions, loan acquirement, litigation, and other similar tasks.
“We are committed to improve economic vitality and quality of life in the region. Our aim is to provide a wide range of services that will enable businesses to prosper, reflecting a dynamic and modern environment”.
CCIAT currently provides services to 17,000 member companies, of which 7,000 have a permanent status. Commercial, Industrial as well as Agricultural enterprises in the cities of Tripoli, Akkar, Batroun, Koura, Zgharta and the regions surrounding them can benefit from the services offered by the Chamber. Chamber staff consists currently of 40 full-time employees and 3 contractual consultants.
The Chamber’s location, in the heart of the capital of the North, surrounded by public offices and major businesses on one of the most vibrant city streets, is an added advantage and a solid foundation for its interacting with the business world and realizing its projects.
CCIAT VISION
The Chamber's growth is related to the diversification and development of the services it offers to its members and the local business community.
In addition to its existing services, which provide stable revenues, the Chamber is in the process of initiating new superior quality services related to different domains and specialties such as business hosting, vocational training, consultancy and incubation. The close interaction between the Chamber and the various economic sectors in the Northern region, establish the added value the Chamber has in comparison to other private ventures because it has the ability to define the companies' specific needs.
The new projects will not only contribute to the economic strength of North Lebanon, but will also stimulate and support local employment and business start-up initiatives in the various fields related to management, information technology, education and business consultancy.
