Since
1999, the chamber has modernized and mechanized its internal network of
activities within all the departments, acquired the ISO 9001:2000 for quality
management system applications and expanded its office space from 600 sq m to
2400 sq m. A further 12000 sq m constitute the first phase of the new building
project.
The Membership Department provides member companies with trade related
authentication and certification of documents and signatures in addition to
certificates of origin. [more]
The Bar-coding Service provides international standard bar-coding for
commercial goods. [more]
The IT Training Center offers training on all levels to members of the
chamber, company staff, government employees, students, and other social groups
in cooperation with New Horizons and Microsoft.
The Media and Communications Department issues a quarterly magazine and
bulletins for economic and agricultural affairs, as well as all chamber
communiqués and public relations.
The IT Incubator provides facilities and consultancy to university
students for software development and supports innovative ideas.
The Mutual Fund, an entity independent in its management, was initiated
in 1999 by the Chamber, to provide subsidized health schemes for all members of
the four Lebanese Chambers.
The GIS (Geographic Information System) Department, established in
2001, has accumulated and assembled existing economic and demographic data and
implemented it in the software system. Data is being updated and upgraded by field
surveys on a regular basis. The system is planned to provide data for use in
the commercial, construction, marketing, and other industries in the region.
Foreign Relations Department provides information and guidance on
foreign development projects such as technical and financial assistance
programs offered by foreign delegations and organizations in Lebanon. The
Department organizes seminars, conferences and workshops related to foreign
assistance programs and offers consultancy and financial advice to potential
investors.
The Arbitration and Conciliation Center was founded for resolving
commercial disputes between parties of the local business community.
The Agricultural affairs Office guides and advises local farmers on
international standards of production and exportation.
An E-Library for legal advice on establishing the various types of
companies and partnership agreements for chamber members.
Other services the Chamber provides are venues for national and local
conferences, small exhibitions, seminars and lectures.
